4 Types of Photos Your Business Should be Posting on Social Media

You’ve heard it all…

“Post on social media at least once a day.”

“Create content pillars to post about.”

“Use at least 25 hashtags per post.”

…and many more. But what should you actually be doing to get more engagement on social media?

Although we cannot say for sure to answer the above question, we do know that there are a handful of photos that we advise your business be posting on social media to help raise your brand awareness.

So, here are the 4 types of photos your business should be posting on social media:

1) Your personality portrait. A personality portrait is a photo of you looking directly into the camera and showing off your signature “pose” or personality. Whether that be laughing, winking, a small smirk, or a deep stare. This photo is important because it allows your followers to see there is a human being behind your business that they can relate to.

2) Doing your work. Whether you own a baking business or are a real estate agent, posting a photo of you actually doing your work can help your audience understand what it is that you actually do and how you operate. This photo is important because it helps your followers understand your process.

3) Interacting with consumers. A good example of this is a photo of you sitting next to your client and showing them something on your laptop. Or you hand delivering your goods to a customer’s front door. Or you sitting down with a patient in your office discussing their lab results. This photo is important because it helps build trust with your followers and allows them to envision themselves working with you.

4) Details. This is usually an afterthought, but details are just as important as the big picture! Detail photos are basically customized stock images that you can use. They may be of a flatlay of what your desk space looks like, holding something with you hands, a closeup of your favorite coffee mug or shoes. This photo is important because it distinguishes you from your competition and shows off your flair!
